Each year, we highlight several seniors and each year we are reminded of the hard work and dedication it takes to be involved in these agricultural programs.Students spend their early mornings caring for their animals before their school day even begins. In the afternoons, they balance their schoolwork and other activities all while continuing to feed and care for their animals...seven days a week, with no days off. These young men and women have learned at an early age what it means to sacrifice, commit, and follow through. Their participation in 4-H and FFA have provided a great foundation of character that will last a lifetime and help them in their journey through life. When we first printed our publication in Helotes, we were new to the world of 4-H and FFA. Our first time attending the Walter Gerlach Livestock Show was quite an educational experience. We were impressed by the support the community and even local businesses provided as they participated in the bidding process. Thanks to the hard work and generosity of the business community, the Walter Gerlach Livestock Show is one of the largestscholarship programs in the country! Helotes Highlights would like to congratulate all of the students who are part of these wonderful organizations. 4-H and FFA have introduced us to a great group of young people that are goal driven and determined. The seniors we have highlighted in this issue are exceptional and we wish each one of them a bright future. We also would like to thank all who have played a part in furthering their success: from their parents and teachers to the school district, the business community and more.We also want to thank you, the community, for your continued support of Helotes Highlights over the years. We ask to please support our advertisers. If you need any services, please see if HelotesHighlights may have a contact for you. We have advertisers from medical, home improvement, estate planning, maid services, pest control and more. Without support of our advertisers, Helotes Highlights would not exist.Have a wonderful March and we hope you enjoy your Spring Break!Sincerely,Ronnie & Gina BarberaPublishersCongratulations To Our February Sweetheart Contest Winners!
