   HAello Community,
new season is upon us, made more and more evident by Texas temperatures cooling a bit. Plus,
it’s hard to miss the colorful pumpkin displays at your local grocery store. And of course, Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte is back! Paired with a pumpkin scone or a slice of pumpkin bread – simply divine! These are just a few of the flavors and sights that help us embrace beginning of fall.
In this issue of Highlights, we asked our readers to submit photos of their pets in their Halloween costumes. We would like to thank each and every one of you who participated! The photos you shared have brought us so much joy! They are all super adorable and we know the community will enjoy seeing them. Although it will certainly be a close call, the winner will be announced in our November issue.
COVID-19 may have put a damper in this year’s fall festivals and other fall events, but many local pumpkin patches are open – with precautions in place – for you and your family to enjoy. Make sure to turn to page six to read more.
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month. We are so inspired by the breast cancer warriors who have shared their stories with us. We hope that their experiences will encourage women to schedule their yearly mammograms
and also give hope to those who have been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Within this issue, we also included a list of local organizations that support women battling breast cancer. No one should have to go through this journey alone. These organizations provide unwavering support, education and resources.
Ladies, thank you for submitting your stories. You have provided so much hope and awareness.
We sincerely hope you are enjoying the wonderful fall season.
This has been a challenging year – to say the least – however, there is always something to be
grateful for.
Until next issue, enjoy this October!
Ronnie & Gina Barbera
Please submit 150 words on what you are most thankful for along with a photo of yourself. Email to info@highlightspub. com by October 20, 2020. We will draw one lucky winner who will receive $50 for participating.
For our November if you would share
 issue, we would love it
with us what you are most thankful.
